Our Chapter House

The Alpha Kappa chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha takes pride in maintaining excellence across all areas, including its chapter house. Originally constructed in 2001 and expanded in 2007, the 30,000-square-foot residence provides comfortable accommodations for up to 104 members. Conveniently located near campus, the house is just steps away from the student recreational center, intramural fields, and S&T stadiums, offering members unparalleled accessibility and convenience.

The Foyer

The foyer serves as the grand entrance to our chapter house and offers a first look at the history and tradition of our fraternity. The first of many trophy cases displaying chapter awards and accomplishments line the space, while our fraternity crest is featured prominently in the center of the floor. With its open layout and connection to the grand staircase and common areas, the foyer provides a welcoming introduction to the house for members, alumni, families, and guests.

Piano room

The piano room is one of the main gathering spaces in our chapter house, offering a comfortable setting for members, alumni, and guests to relax and spend time together. Featuring a baby grand piano, fireplace, leather seating, and displays highlighting chapter history and traditions, the room combines a welcoming atmosphere with the character of the fraternity. It serves as a central space for conversation, brotherhood, and hosting guests throughout the year.

trophy room

Alpha Kappa is the second most awarded Pike chapter internationally. The trophy room highlights the vast achievements of our chapter. Cases throughout the room showcase our 32 Robert Adger Smythe Awards, St. Pats trophies, and memorabilia earned over generations, while bookshelves preserve additional pieces of fraternity history, including a memorial for our fallen brother, Jered Newman Adams. Comfortable seating also makes the space a quiet place for members to study and alumni to gather while surrounded by the accomplishments that have helped shape our chapter.

Pool room

The pool room is a relaxed social space designed for members to unwind, spend time together, and enjoy some friendly competition. Centered around a custom, vintage pool table, the room also includes comfortable seating, a television, chess set, and easy access to Wolf Hall, our exterior patio, and our TV room. Its open layout makes it a natural gathering spot for everyday brotherhood, informal events, and time with alumni and guests.

TV room

The TV room is a casual space for members to relax, watch games and movies, and spend time together. Equipped with a Nintendo Switch, a large television, comfortable seating, ping-pong table, dart board, and arcade games, it offers plenty of options for both entertainment and downtime. The room is a popular everyday gathering spot for meetings and sporting events such as The Masters, football, Formula 1, and more.

Conference room

The conference room provides a dedicated space for group studying, chapter leadership planning, and collaboration. Featuring a large custom conference table, comfortable seating, and a wall-mounted display, the room is well suited for executive meetings, committee work, group studying, alumni discussions, interviews, and presentations. It gives members a professional setting to organize personal, academic, and chapter business.

Poker room

The poker room offers a space for members to gather and enjoy friendly competition. Centered around an entirely custom Pi Kappa Alpha poker table and chips, the room is surrounded by framed photographs that highlight the chapter’s history. Newly renovated in 2024, its darker, more intimate design gives the space a distinct character and makes it a favorite setting for game nights, brotherhood events, and time with alumni.
